We recently returned from an unforgettable adventure at the San Juan River and Navajo Lake, where outdoor fun was at its peak! Our team set out with three drift boats for an epic fly-fishing experience on the San Juan, while a pontoon boat crew enjoyed the beauty of Navajo Lake. With both morning and afternoon groups, everyone had ample time to soak in the excitement and natural splendor of these incredible destinations.
The fly-fishing on the San Juan River was phenomenal, with jigs and midge flies proving to be the ideal combination for success. We floated from Texas Hole to Crusher Hole, where everyone caught and released multiple stunning trout, making for an action-packed day on the water. Meanwhile, at Navajo Lake, the crew enjoyed bass fishing, swimming, and even discovered a picturesque beach to relax and play.
This trip was all about creating memorable experiences for kids, made possible by our collaboration with Explore Beyond Your Limits and The San Juan Fly Fishing Federation. Together, we doubled the number of kids we could serve, enhancing the trip’s significance.
We wrapped up our adventure with a delightful enchilada dinner hosted by our generous friends, Ken and Cindy. Their backyard provided the perfect setting for more fun, including bocce ball, backyard fishing, a campfire with roasted s’mores, horseshoes, and, of course, storytelling about our fishing escapades.
The trip was an absolute blast from start to finish, combining outdoor recreation, community, and the joy of helping kids experience the beauty of the outdoors!
