Rio Rally 2024 was a significant milestone for GO Unlimited, marking our largest adaptive cycle ride to date! This year’s event brought together a diverse group of adaptive cyclists who explored the picturesque Rio Grande Bosque trails in Albuquerque, NM. Beginning at the Nature Center, most of our riders made their way to the popular Bike-In-Coffee, a charming café located along the trail. For the fourth consecutive year, generous owners Lanny and Linda hosted our group, treating our riders to refreshing watermelon and kiwi lemonade—a delicious and well-deserved break.
This year’s Rio Rally was not just a ride; it was a celebration of inclusion and mobility. Adaptive cycling has been steadily growing in our community, and events like the Rio Rally continue to highlight the increasing accessibility and opportunities for handcyclists and other adaptive riders. With its flat, scenic terrain, the Bosque trails provide an ideal setting for cyclists of all abilities to enjoy the joys of outdoor recreation.
Looking ahead, we are already gearing up for Rio Rally 2025, which promises to be an extra-special event as we celebrate GO Unlimited’s 20th anniversary! Our goal is to make the rally bigger than ever, featuring more riders, expanded routes, and a continued focus on the flourishing handcycle opportunities this event has nurtured. We’re excited to witness the growth of the adaptive cycling community and can’t wait to come together again for another fun and empowering ride.
Stay tuned for more details, and thank you to everyone who made Rio Rally 2024 a massive success!
