We are thrilled to share that our second collaboration with Adelante’s Destination Accessibility project was a huge success! Building on the excitement of our first trip, this event offered even more activities and attracted a larger crowd, making it an unforgettable day for everyone involved.

Once again, participants had the chance to try out FreeWheel and adaptive cycle demos, which are always a highlight. These demonstrations allow individuals with mobility challenges to discover new ways to enjoy outdoor activities with greater ease. The New Mexico Game and Fish Department also contributed to the day’s success by helping participants catch a variety of fish. The fishing was better than ever, with an abundance of catfish giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy a rewarding day by the water.

The turnout for this event was fantastic, with around 70 people in attendance, which was significantly more than our first collaboration. It was wonderful to see the increased participation, as it showed the growing enthusiasm for accessible outdoor recreation. One of the standout features of the day was the delicious lunch provided by our friends at Papacanos. They brought their portable brick oven pizza setup, offering freshly baked pizzas that everyone enjoyed.

We are grateful for the partnerships that made this event possible and are already looking forward to future collaborations with Adelante’s Destination Accessibility project. Together, we continue working toward creating inclusive outdoor experiences that allow everyone, regardless of ability, to enjoy nature and recreation.
